On CNN, I watch
a young Jewish settler
in the West Bank,
talk about God's
real estate deal.

I quickly turn to
the Buddhist channel;
watch a master making
tea.

Of the two, I'd prefer
to lift cup to lip,
rather than choke on
dust and blood.

THE PROMOTION

Once there was
a fool who
pretended to be
a saint
pretending to be
a fool.

One day someone
took him seriously
and blew his cover.

He went back
to his old job
happily,
inspite of
the pay cut.
